So Grateful: Giving God the First Fruits of Your Day!

With the busyness of each day, it’s not uncommon to start the day not realizing what a miracle it was to simply wake up.  But, it is through the Grace of God and His favor that we get a whole new 24 hours daily!

So, it’s  important to be grateful each and every day that we wake in appreciation for the  love, mercy and blessings that He bestows upon us.

In the book of Proverbs 3:9,  it tells us to “Honor the Lord…with the first fruit for all thine increase”.  The phrase, “first fruit” doesn’t necessarily have to be an offering or tithe, but rather a way to show appreciation and gratitude.

Below are 3 Ways to Give God the First Fruits of Your Day:

  1. Prayer and meditation.  Start off with prayer and thankfulness and move on to meditation for 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. Praise in Song.  Turn on your favorite praise music upon waking, lift your hands to the Lord and  and let your love for Him fill your mind.
  3. Praise Journaling.  Upon waking, sit up in bed and get your Praise Journaling on!  Write what you’re thankful for. Write out scriptures and words that help you focus on God.

Let’s face it, not all of our days are the same.  Some are bright and some will be cloudy, but God’s grace flows just the same.  Giving God the first fruits of your day starts you off with a mindset of gratitude and it takes the focus off of whatever challenges you might be going through and puts you in a spirit of love.
